7NCEE Conference
The Seventh U.S. National Conference on Earthquake Engineering (7NCEE) was held July 21-25, 2002 at the Park Plaza Hotel, Boston, MA. The theme of the conference was Urban Earthquake Risk. The conference was organized by the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI), bringing together professionals from the broad range of disciplines committed to reducing the impact of earthquakes on the built and natural environment: geology, seismology, geophysics, geotechnical engineering, soils and foundation engineering, structural engineering, architecture, social response, regional planning, emergency response planning, and regulation.
MAE Center Graduate Research Assistants, Omer Erbay, Franklin Moon, Can Simsir, David Peralta, and Joonam Park made presentations. Center PI’s presenting included Jim LaFave, Sandra Menke, Shirley Dyke, and Brad Cross. The Center’s Director, Daniel Abrams, spoke at the Plenary Session on Research Vision and Implementation at National EERC’s.
