Illinois State Fair 2000

On August 11-12 at Springfield, IL, the MAE Center participated in the Illinois State Fair. The center’s display and interactive learning tools were located within the Tech Town building in the heart of the state fair grounds. Thousands of children and adults learned about the MAE Center and the hazards of earthquakes along the New Madrid fault. The MAE Center booth featured the shake table from Washington University, an interactive touch screen exhibit, footage from the Taiwan and Turkey earthquakes, and posters and video of the NBC report on the MAE Center.
