Yankee Ridge Elementary School PTA Science Committee, Urbana, IL, hosted a "Junior Scientist Day" on April 22, 2003

Kindergarten-5th grade students worked with MAE Center graduate and undergraduate students building K'Nex structures to test on the shaketable. Unusual buildings with tall towers, look-out stations, and swinging antennas, ruled the day. Children learned about methods for making buildings safer. The shaketable was the single most requested display, even more popular that the headless cockroaches.
