Undergraduate Research Workshop

Over 100 UIUC engineering undergraduate students attended the Engineering Council’s 2003 Undergraduate Research Workshop on February 17. The Engineering Council is the students’ voice in the College of Engineering. The workshop was a new initiative to encourage undergraduates to learn about and participate in research, with a focus on the benefits for both students and faculty. Student Leadership Council representatives Cale Ash and Carrie Wagener introduced MAE Center research and discussed opportunities for undergraduate participation. The workshop gave students a better understanding of how to pursue research opportunities and what would be expected of them as undergraduate researchers.
